Yetholme sits at about 1,070 metres, so frost, fog and winter snow are part of the trip for much of the year — we build a weather margin into every pre-dawn pickup.

Yetholme is a small village on the Great Western Highway, about 25 km east of Bathurst and 35 km west of Lithgow, with 241 residents at the 2021 Census. It was first called Fryingpan (or Frying Pan) after nearby Frying Pan Creek and was renamed Yetholme in 1866, echoing Yetholm in Scotland. In the coaching era it was a stop on the Sydney–Bathurst road and once had three hotels.
Yetholme sits on the tablelands near the Great Dividing Range, roughly 25 km east of Bathurst, at an elevation of about 1,070 m. Frying Pan Creek runs nearby, and the surrounding country is cool, open grazing and orchard land.
St Paul’s Anglican Church on Porters Lane (opened 1868) has an adjoining cemetery with headstones dating from 1873. The district was known for fruit growing, and the Bathurst and Lithgow attractions are each about 30 minutes away by road.
A taxi over 180 km runs on the meter with no set price, and few will come out to Yetholme for a pre-dawn start. Public transport means a coach or drive to the nearest station, a train to Central and a change to the airport line with your luggage — and nothing gets you there for an early flight. Driving yourself means about 2 hr 26 min each way plus airport parking for every day you are away. See the full comparison.
Flying home? We meet you at the rideshare area inside the P7 car park at T1, or the Priority Pick-up area off the P1 walkway at T2 and T3, with free waiting of 60 minutes after an international landing and 40 after a domestic one — step-by-step pickup directions.
Family down the road or a friend on the way — we collect from more than one address on the same run, so everyone travels in one vehicle for one fixed fare. Add the extra stops when you book.
Each has its own page and published fares.
