Georges Plains is reached from Bathurst through Perthville on sealed rural roads. Pickups are typically at a street address or farm gate in the village or on the surrounding properties.
From Georges Plains the run goes via Bathurst and the Great Western Highway through Lithgow and the Blue Mountains, about 221 km and 2 hr 58 min to the terminals without stops.
Georges Plains sits at about 695 metres, below the coldest part of the plateau, though the run out can still cross frosty or foggy high country on a winter morning.
Neighbours can each book from their own page — the closest areas we cover are Perthville, Cow Flat and Rockley Mount.
About 221 km and 2 hr 58 min by road.
Georges Plains is a small village south of Bathurst, named by early settlers in honour of King George III. It began as one of at least three government stock stations on the western side of the Macquarie River and later became a township for the surrounding farms. It had 248 residents at the 2016 census.
Georges Plains lies about 12 km south-south-west of Bathurst, reached via Perthville, on open farming plains in the Macquarie River catchment.
There are no modern visitor attractions, but traces of the old township remain: the former shop and post office on the main street, the disused railway station, the old hotel (now a private home) and the closed 1867 St John’s Anglican Church designed by Edward Gell. Bathurst, a short drive north, has the wineries, dining and heritage sites.
A taxi over 221 km runs on the meter with no set price, and few will come out to Georges Plains for a pre-dawn start. Public transport means a coach or drive to the nearest station, a train to Central and a change to the airport line with your luggage — and nothing gets you there for an early flight. Driving yourself means about 2 hr 58 min each way plus airport parking for every day you are away. See the full comparison.
Flying home? We meet you at the rideshare area inside the P7 car park at T1, or the Priority Pick-up area off the P1 walkway at T2 and T3, with free waiting of 60 minutes after an international landing and 40 after a domestic one — step-by-step pickup directions.
Family down the road or a friend on the way — we collect from more than one address on the same run, so everyone travels in one vehicle for one fixed fare. Add the extra stops when you book.
Each has its own page and published fares.

No. The old Georges Plains railway station is disused, so the nearest passenger rail is in Bathurst. A door-to-door transfer avoids the connection to the city.

Payment is made in advance, by card or PayID, to confirm the booking and hold the vehicle. Give us at least 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel; inside 24 hours a cancellation fee applies.
